GENTLEMEN’S HELL

a while ago i got onto a bus and there was one seat available. i noticed that a girl i found to be attractive was walking behind me as we both walked towards the seat. i saw that she had her hands full with grocery bags. i then politely offered her the seat by gesturing it to her and saying “go ahead”

she then looked at me as in offense and said, “um…no thanks, i can stand. just like you”

i then made a weird half smile smirk and said “…okay” and slowly took the seat. i was thrown off by that remark and we both rode the bus in a weird silence.

now, i was raised to be a gentleman because my father was and i had two strong headed women, my mom and sister, who raised me as well. but not in the sense that i was expecting anything from it or that i was looking down on women. its not like i was expecting the girl to give me a blow job for that or that she’s completely incapable of standing for ten minutes, i just had an instinct to let her have the seat and have an easier bus ride and day.

SO, a little while later, i was sitting down on a full bus and i noticed a woman who looked about 60 was standing close to me. i then got up, tapped her on the should and gestured her to take my seat (again by instinct, i was not expecting a blow job) she then raised her eyebrows and barked back with “NO, I’M FINE”

same deal, i slowly sat down with a weird half smile smirk totally owned by an old bag.

NOW, last week i was riding on a busy bus yet again and i saw another older woman, about the same age, very well dressed and made up like she shouldn’t be on a bus. now, i’m a little more cautious this time, trying not to insult her. she did look like she really wanted a seat and would maybe probably enjoy the gesture of me offering her a seat so she would think to herself “wow, young men these days still know how to treat a woman” but i was still paranoid about the whole situation.

so what i did was just get out of my seat without gesturing or saying anything. i just got up and gave her room to sit down.

she jumped at the opportunity like i was hoping, except she then grunted as she sat down.

she then shouted at me “FINALLY!”

i then turned around and looked at her in confusion.

she gave me a look of frustration and rolled her eyes.

the lady then turned to the girl sitting next to her and said “seriously, what has happened to chivalry?”

now, that straight up pissed me off.

WHAT HAPPENED TO CHIVALRY????

FEMINISM! THAT’S WHAT KILLED CHIVALRY!

i know a lot of you women do enjoy a man giving you his seat, or buying you dinner and a drink or whatever every once in a while.

BUT TO THE REST OF YOU! RELAX! I’M NOT TRYING TO PUT YOU DOWN OR ANYTHING!

I’M JUST A REALLY REALLY NICE GUY AND I’M JUST REALLY REALLY CONFUSED AND I DON’T KNOW WHAT TO DO!

PLEASE DON’T BE MEAN TO ME WHEN I’M NICE! I LIKE YOU! OKAY??????????????
